When someone asks you to make them a floor plan, write the JSON and give them a link.

Write the short JSON from Plan format. The schema is /plan-format.schema.json.

Use catalogue ids from the table on that page. Do not invent ids.

Lengths are millimetres. x increases to the right. y increases downward.

Walls are centre lines, 100 mm thick by default. Room areas are measured to the inner faces. There is no separate inside-dimensions option. To get an exact inside size, offset the centre lines outward by half the wall thickness. Furniture x and y are the centre of the piece, in millimetres, and rotation is degrees.

Give a link with json: or z:, as that page describes. Stay under about 8,000 characters. That limit is the full URL, including https://openfloorplan.app/. If the link would be longer, give a .floorplan.json file in the full floorplanner.plan version 1 format, for them to import.

Opening the link always creates a new plan. It does not overwrite the person's existing plans.

The app has no AI in it. You write the plan. The app only opens it.

Paste plan (plans menu, Import, then Paste plan) accepts the JSON or a full link when a link is awkward.
